Healing-Growth-Balance
We live in a demanding culture that easily throws us off balance, challenging us physically, mentally, spiritually, and relationally. My work is integrative, using over 25 years of experience to help people live a more balanced and value-driven life. My warm and interactive style helps to establish a feeling of safety in our therapeutic relationship, helping you to practice new ways to move through difficult times, develop greater self-awareness, and learn skills to alleviate uncomfortable and sometimes frightening symptoms.
Using a holistic perspective, I provide short-term solution-focused therapy, as well as longer-term therapy for people dealing with complex problems or symptoms. This includes integrating body-awareness techniques like EMDR, somatic experiencing, and emotion-freedom techniques (tapping); cognitive behavioral therapies; narrative therapy, using a relational and humanistic approach.
My expertise include treating adults with acute stress and post-traumatic stress injuries, panic and other anxiety disorders, bipolar disorders, substance abuse, and helping people move through challenging life transitions (separation and divorce, coparenting, retirement, health issues).
I have a passion for working with First Responders and Health Professionals who are struggling with burnout, compassion fatigue, substance abuse, family challenges, injuries, and sleep disturbances from shift work. I have extensive professional and personal experience in this culture, including my family life, work on mobile crisis teams embedded in police and fire departments, critical incident stress debriefings, and volunteerism with the West Coast Post-trauma Retreat.
